President's Corner

Dear Philadelphia Tennis Club Members and Friends,

I hope you have been well and are excited about the upcoming tennis season as I am.  We board members at PTC are looking forward to having all of you who belonged to the club last year rejoin us this year. We are going to make it more convenient to pay your dues this year as you will have the option of going on line and using your PayPal account and the information on how to do that will be forthcoming this week. We also hope you will encourage all of your tennis friends and associates to come and join Philadelphia Tennis Club as the number one goal of us board members is to increase membership which insures the financial solvency of our club so that future generations may enjoy what we have today.

We at Philadelphia Tennis Club pride ourselves on having the finest clay courts in the Tri-State area and that will not change. Last year we were able to save a considerable amount of money by covering our courts with tarps and doing what restoration was necessary ourselves and we thank those that came out and worked long days. This year we will spare no expense and have hired a contractor whose is known for great work to do a complete renovation on all seven of our courts. That work begins today so I urge you all to pay your dues so that in the coming days as our courts are ready for play you can get back to the wonderful benefits of clay after a long indoor season on the hard courts. We also are continuing to improve our facilities as currently our clubhouse kitchen is undergoing a full renovation. We have many events scheduled this season in addition to our tournaments such as a Community/Open House Day and we will also be having a members meeting in the weeks to come so that you may have a forum to address your concerns. We will be having a full youth tennis program this summer as we are partnering with Legacy Tennis which will be in addition to the youth tennis program run by Don Ringgold. I look forward to seeing you all at the club soon and feel free to contact me with any comments and suggestions you may have on how to improve our incredible club.

                                                                                                                            Thank you,

                                                                                                                                 George Guy,

                                                                                                                                  President, Philadelphia Tennis Club
